Low flow drip irrigation is an advanced method that delivers water slowly and precisely to the root zone using low-flow drippers - typically 0.7 – 1.0 liters per hour per emitter. Over the last few years, we have been leading the flow-reduction revolution, showing that reducing flow below 1.0 l/h can improve crop uniformity, yield and quality while providing significant hydraulic advantages.

How does it work?

Historically systems are designed with an application rate of 1mm/Hr. Depending on crop type and climatic conditions the farm is divided into two or three shifts.

Lower flow rates allow systems to be designed with an application rate of 0.5 mm/Hr.
Shift sizes can be increased and the farm operated in one shift
Almonds are usually designed as two shifts, Low flow allow farms to be run in one shift
Fertigation, irrigation and system operating is simplified leading to greater efficiency
